Abstract Funding Acknowledgements Type of funding sources: None. Introduction Recent evidence suggests that C-reactive peptide (CRP) may play an important role as a marker unstable atheromatous plaque and acute coronary syndrome (ACS). A recent retrospective study involving 102,337 ACS patients found CRP elevation resulted in significant increase short- long- term mortality. This association present opportunity to improve patient selection for therapeutics such immunomodulatory drugs targeting inflammation hence, reducing cardiovascular events. Purpose To determine the prognostic value presenting with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Methods All which presented STEMI 2016 2017 were included this retrospective, observational study. Exclusion criteria who did not have taken at point contact hospital prior PPCI, treated conservatively (no PPCI), any condition levels regardless (active inflammatory disease, infective process, or malignancy). data was collected from online systems. Prognosis evaluated based on major adverse events (unstable angina requiring hospitalisation, [MI], hospitalisation due pulmonary oedema revascularization repeat PCI artery bypass [CABG]) all-cause Patients followed up till September 2022, maintaining minimum 5-year follow up. stratified into 3 groups according levels; Group 1: 0-5mg/L (normal), 2: 5-15mg/L 3: ≥15mg/L. Chi-square used statistical analysis categorical data. Kruskal–Wallis 1-way variance test continuous after finding non-normal distribution. P <0.05 considered significant. Results 438 our 2017. total 185 excluded no available. further 13 they noted ongoing malignancy, condition. 2 undergo PPCI. The remaining cohort 238 distributed per Figure 1. Baseline characteristics collected; statistically differences (Figure 1). Statistically more MACEs deaths higher (apart CABG) Kaplan-Meier curves time-to-first MACE cumulative survival indicated poorer outcome (p<0.0001 p=0.0004, respectively) 2). Conclusion Higher PPCI has been shown be related prognosis STEMI. Further prospective work is required explore pathway ischaemic heart disease patients.

Association of C-reactive protein and myocardial perfusion in patients with ST-elevation acute myocardial infarction.
This study sought to evaluate the relation between C-reactive protein (CRP) on admission of patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and myocardial perfusion as defined by postintervention angiographic myocardial blush grade (MBG) and their impact on subsequent mortality. The patient population comprised 191 consecutive patients with AMI undergoing PTCA within 12h of symptom onset on a n...
متن کاملTenecteplase: Innovative Fibrinolysis for ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI)
The use of fibrinolytic agents in the early treatment of ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) is known to significantly reduce mortality. Accelerated (“frontloaded”) alteplase is being challenged as the standard of care for pharmacological reperfusion. Alteplase, reteplase, and streptokinase have several limitations. The search for newer agents has focused on developing a fibrinol...
متن کاملEfficacy of clotinab in acute myocardial infarction trial-ST elevation myocardial infarction (ECLAT-STEMI).
BACKGROUND This study investigated the efficacy and the safety of the upstream glycoprotein (Gp) IIb/IIIa inhibitor (clotinab; ISU ABXIS, Seoul, Republic of Korea) under 600-mg clopidogrel pretreatment compared with provisional use in ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). METHODS AND RESULTS A total of 786 STEMI patients were randomized to upstream use in the emergency room (ER) (n = 39...
متن کاملThe influence of thrombolytic therapy on C-reactive protein in ST-segment elevation acute myocardial infarction.
BACKGROUND Inflammation plays a crucial role in atherosclerotic processes and in acute coronary syndromes (ACS). Strong evidence of this is the elevation of C-reactive protein (CRP) serum levels during an ACS and its short- and long-term prognostic potency. The present study aimed to assess the relation between CRP serum levels and the elevation of cardiac markers in patients with ST elevation ...
متن کاملHigh-Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein as a Predictor of Cardiovascular Events after ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction
BACKGROUND The association between high-sensitivity C-reactive protein and recurrent major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction who undergo primary percutaneous coronary intervention remains controversial. OBJECTIVE To investigate the potential association between high-sensitivity C-reactive protein and an increased risk of MACE such as deat...
